NHL Rumors: Bruins Continuing to Show Interest in Veteran Forward

For a good portion of the season, the Boston Bruins have been viewed as a potential landing spot for Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews. Now, more fuel is being added to that fire, as The Fourth Period has confirmed that Boston is in fact interested in the veteran center.

There's no question that Toews would like to play for a contender, as he expressed discontent when the Blackhawks announced that they were beginning a rebuild last season. So far, Chicago has been as advertised, as they are currently at the very bottom of the NHL standings. Yet, if Toews accepted a move to Boston, he would have the chance with the league's top team (at the time of this writing).

Toews could serve well as Boston's third-line center if acquired, while Charlie Coyle could move to right wing. Overall, Boston would be landing a solid two-way center with three Stanley Cups on his resume. Alas, let's see if the two Original Six clubs make a move from here.
