NHL Rumors: Calgary Flames Linked to 2 Blackhawks Forwards

The Calgary Flames are having a bit of an underwhelming year thus far, and a primary reason behind that is their subpar scoring depth. As a result, they are expected to add a scoring winger before this year's trade deadline passes, according to Frank Seravalli. Seravalli also noted that Chicago Blackhawks forwards Max Domi and Andreas Athanasiou could be targets for the Flames because of this.

With the Blackhawks sporting the worst record in the league and being in a full-on rebuild, pending UFAs like Domi and Athanasiou are expected to be dealt. That seemed to be Chicago's plan when they signed each of these forwards to one-year contracts during the offseason. Both have been playing well and should net them decent returns.

Out of the pair, Domi has had the better season, but Athanasiou would also still be able to provide them with more secondary scoring and speed in their middle-six. Alas, let's see if one of these two end up being dealt to Calgary from here.
