NHL Rumors: LA Kings to Pursue San Jose Sharks Goalie

The Los Angeles Kings currently hold a playoff spot, but there’s no question that they should be looking to add a goalie before the trade deadline passes. Jonathan Quick and Cal Pederson came into the year as their duo, but they have struggled mightily. According to Frank Seravalli, the Kings could make a push for San Jose Sharks goalie James Reimer because of it.

The Sharks are very likely going to be sellers this season, as their playoff chances are basically zero at this point. With Reimer being a pending UFA, he is expected to be on the move. When noting that he is a very reliable goalie, he could be exactly the kind of target that the Kings should be pursuing.

There should be a decent market for Reimer at the deadline, so the Kings will have competition if they decide to make a push for him. We will have to wait and see if these two Pacific division rivals end up striking a rare trade before the deadline passes.
