NHL Rumors: New Jersey Devils Linked to Buffalo Sabres Goalie

The New Jersey Devils have had a very good season so far in 2022-23, and they have a real shot and making a postseason because of it. Yet, it is also clear that they should be looking to improve upon their roster before the trade deadline passes. In a recent piece for Daily Faceoff, former NHL netminder Mike McKenna argued that the Devils should be looking to add another Goaltender. In it, he brought up the prospect of the Devils making a push for Buffalo Sabres goalie Craig Anderson.

Although Buffalo has taken a noticeable step forward this year, their playoff hopes are still not necessarily high at the time of this writing. As a result, they could look to move Anderson, as he is one of their top rental candidates. Even at 41 years old, Anderson is playing like a true starting goaltender, as he has a 2.70 goals-against average and .921 save percentage.

With Mackenzie Blackwood struggling, It may make sense for the devils to make a push for Anderson at the deadline. Let’s see if they end up landing the veteran from here, as it would give them another solid option in goal for the playoffs.
