NHL Rumors: Patrick Kane to Boston Bruins Heating Up

For much of the season, Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane has been linked as a potential trade target for the Boston Bruins. It does make sense, as the Bruins have Stanley Cup or bust expectations, and bringing in a star to an already-strong roster would certainly help their chances. Now, more fuel has been added to this rumor, as the Fourth Period has confirmed that the Bruins are indeed interested in Kane.

Ultimately, it is not surprising to hear that the Bruins have a strong interest in Kane. After all, he would provide them with another legitimate top-six winger before they begin their playoff run. He could be a perfect replacement for Pavel Zacha on the second line, and he could make real magic with superstar David Pastrnak and long-time center David Krejci. On paper, there seems to be a fantastic fit here, but it will be intriguing to see if Boston can successfully pull the trigger on this move.

For a Kane blockbuster to occur, the Blackhawks will need to retain half of his salary and a third team would need to help as well. Although it would take a lot of work, it is possible, so we will have to wait and see if Kane ends up coming to Beantown from here.
