NHL Rumors: San Jose Sharks Shopping Defenseman

We recently reported that San Jose Sharks defenseman Jaycob Megna is a player to watch as we get closer to the trade deadline. Now, more fuel has been added to that fire, as NHL insider Frank Seravalli has placed the big-bodied defenseman on his trade targets board for Daily Faceoff.

Megna has been having an excellent year and is one of the bright spots for what has been a rough season for the San Jose Sharks. His steady defensive play and immense physicality have not only earned him a full-time NHL role but have also resulted in him playing top-pairing minutes with superstar Erik Karlsson. Naturally, with the Sharks rebuilding, this improvement in his play has increased his trade value, and they are likely to take advantage of it.

We will need to wait and see if he ends up being moved before the deadline from here. Several teams are already expressing interest in him, so the chances of that occurring seem rather high.
