NHL Rumors: Seattle Kraken Defenseman Garnering Interest

The Seattle Kraken have had a very solid 2022-2023 season, and now they have a real chance of making the playoffs for the first time and their franchise history. However, with this being a team that is still technically building its core, there is a chance that they could lock the trade away some of their pending UFAs for the right price. Carson Soucy stands out as a real candidate in this scenario, according to Frank Seravalli.

Soucy was a big name in the rumor mill at last year‘s deadline, but he ended up staying put. He is the kind of defenseman that playoff teams would love to have on their roster, so Seattle could land a pretty strong return for him if he’s made available again. If a team offers, say a second-round pick and prospect for him, it does not seem too out of the question that Seattle would be willing to move him. As a result, we will have to wait and see if he ends up being dealt.

Time will tell what Seattle does from here, but GM Ron Francis has a big decision to make when it comes to him.
