Seattle Kraken: 3 Trades to Consider Ahead of 2023 Deadline

Let's Get Kraken: The Seattle Kraken are turning heads this season as in only their second year in the league, they are starting to dominant hockey games and find themselves in the thick of the Western Conference playoff race. Expect to see GM Ron Francis active ahead of the March 3 trade deadline and here's three deals to consider:

Kraken Trade for Sam Reinhart

The Florida Panthers are trying to move out some money and have Sam Reinhart who is being offered in trade talks. Reinhart would be a great fit for the Kraken and is someone who can come in with some term left on his deal. This wouldn't be a rental as Reinhart is owed $6.5 million next season. Francis could dangle a couple of the team's surplus of second-round picks to make it happen as the Panthers are desperate for more draft picks.

Kraken Trade for Bo Horvat

If the Kraken land a center, it's going to be Horvat from the Canucks. They know the player very well and are heavily interested. They also have the means to please the Canucks, who are looking for NHL-ready prospects including a center and right-handed defenseman. Horvat could very well re-sign in Seattle as well after this season and give them their first true #1 center.

Kraken Trade for Timo Meier

The San Jose Sharks are looking for a package of a first-round pick, top prospect and NHL ready defenseman for Meier. The Kraken could meet the Sharks needs as adding a player with Meier's abilities would truly push the needle in Seattle. He's a pending restricted free agent as well, so GM's don't mind sending out a big package if it means there's some team control coming back the other way.
