Arizona Coyotes Rumors: Price To Acquire Karel Vejmelka At Deadline

Karel Vejmelka has been putting makeup on a pig once again this season as he has stolen many games for the Arizona Coyotes. They would be a much worse team this season and that much closer to winning the Connor Bedard sweepstakes if it wasn't for their young goalie.

Seeing as the team is going through a rebuild and management doesn't want to win just yet, Vejmelka could be on the move. Teams have definitely shown interest in him as his cap hit is low, he has shown lots of talent, and is young. The 26-year-old Czech may have a negative win-loss record, but he is peppered with shots every night and sports a .908 save percentage, three shutouts, and 2.2 goals saved above average. This is a major step-up from last season where he also made a name for himself.

Vejmelka has two years remaining on his contract carrying a $2.75 million AAV cap hit. A team looking for a tandem or even a starter will be looking to acquire him because of his abilities and how easily he can be fit under the cap. Vejmelka won't come cheap, as Craig Morgan reported that the Coyotes want more than a second round pick for their goalie, and rightfully so. Even the cost of a first round pick and more is worth it for the term and consistent strong goaltending.
