Boston Bruins Rumors: GM Looking for LHD via Trade

The Boston Bruins are one of the league's elite teams this season and their management group is looking to continue to improve their hockey club ahead of the trade deadline. While they were in on Bo Horvat, it sounds like most of their focus moving forward will be on acquiring a defenseman. A left-handed blueliner to be more specific, according to a report from Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman:

They looked great, they smoked the Islanders, however, I do think one of the reasons that (Vladislav) Gavrikov was given the trade-related sit-out by the Columbus Blue Jackets is because the Bruins are in on him. One of the issues, Ron and Jeff, I believe is the cap. The Bruins have to do some things to make this work. But we’ll see where this goes over the next couple of days. I think left D is an area that Boston’s targeted.

If Vladislav Gavrikov isn't the target, look for the Bruins to acquire one of Jakob Chychrun from the Arizona Coyotes or Joel Edmundson from the Montreal Canadiens as both defensemen have been recently linked to deals to the B's.

With no second-round picks in the next two drafts, the Bruins would like to keep hold of their first rounders in 2023 and 2024 and have been rumored to be offering more prospect filled trade packages to other teams.
