Bruins & Avalanche Complete a Trade

The Boston Bruins and Colorado Avalanche have agreed to a trade that will send goaltender Keith Kinkaid to the Avalanche in exchange for forward Shane Bowers. Albeit a depth move for both teams, it could prove to be a valuable one for Colorado who now have another experience goaltender in their organization.

TRADE: #GoAvsGo acquire G Keith Kinkaid from #NHLBruins for C Shane Bowers. Kinkaid has been assigned to the AHL's Eagles.

Kinkaid, 33 is a veteran goaltender, who can be called upon when the team needs it. He has been in the NHL for 10 seasons and played for four teams. He has spent time with the New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, and the aforementioned Bruins. He is set to report to the Avalanche's AHL affiliates the Colorado Eagles.

Bowers, 23 has only played 1 NHL game in his young career. He was originally a draft pick of the Ottawa Senators in 2017 but opted to hit the open market and signed with Colorado. He now joins an absolutely stacked Bruins team, and will presumably be assigned to the Providence Bruins in the AHL. However, because of his age and the development system that Boston has, he could become an everyday NHL player shortly.

Boston currently sits atop the NHL and will look to make a few more additions to their roster ahead of the March 3, NHL trade deadline, in hopes of once again hoisting the Stanley Cup.
