NHL Trade Rumors: 4 Teams In Advanced Trade Talks
The NHL's trade market is heating up in a major way and look for some significant deals to be completed shortly after the American Thanksgiving weekend. Teams are starting to get a sense of their identities, and general managers around the league are connecting on a daily basis to gauge what the market will look like.
Here's four teams to keep an eye on as trade talks heat up heading into November:
Calgary Flames
GM Craig Conroy will be making multiple significant trades this season and it starts with Nazem Kadri, Blake Coleman, and Rasmus Andersson. Calgary is off to a 2-7-1 start to the year and have the worst offense in the league, so it could be a very long season for Flames fans.
Vancouver Canucks
The Canucks have been hit hard with the injury bug and are off to a 5-5-0 start, as they look to hang on through the adversity early on this season. They're in the market for a center and/or top-six forward who is versatile to play the wing or down the middle, and so far have been linked to Pavel Zacha in Boston. Don't be surprised to see the Canucks pull something off in the next couple of weeks, Zacha or not.
Seattle Kraken
The Kraken are in the market for a significant upgrade among their top six and on their blueline. They've had an aggressive offseason and so far this season are one of the NHL's biggest surprises with their 5-2-2 start through nine games. Kadri could be a fit, or they could swing even bigger and check in on Artemi Panarin in New York.
Utah Mammoth
Speaking of surprises, the Mammoth have taken the NHL by storm this season. Utah is 8-2-0 and leading their division and owner Ryan Smith wants to put the gas pedal to the floor with this season's momentum, and making another huge splash to turn heads around the league. The Rangers have a couple of big names available, and Utah will be interested. They could also see Kadri as an experienced Cup winner who could help their dressing room.
