Chicago Blackhawks Rumors: New Team Enters Toews Sweepstakes

The Chicago Blackhawks are set to be major sellers at the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline, and one of their biggest trade candidates is captain Jonathan Toews. He has received a good amount of interest around the league, and according to David Pagnotta, the Seattle Kraken are believed to be interested in him.

It is not surprising to hear that the Kraken are looking at a player like Toews as we continue to inch closer to the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline. After all, they have taken a noticeable step in the right direction this campaign and are expected to be buyers at the deadline because of it. With that, they certainly could use a boost at the center position, and Toews would give them just that.

For this move to occur, Toews would need to waive his no-movement clause and accept a deal to Seattle. On paper, there could be a very good match here, but at the end of the day, the future Hall of Famer will have full control over if and where he will be dealt. Alas, we will need to wait and see if Seattle lands him from here.
