Nashville Predators Rumors: Forward Becoming Trade Candidate

NHL fans should watch the Nashville Predators closely at the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline, as it has been reported by NHL insider Pierre LeBrun that players like Matt Duchene, Ryan Johansen, Mattias Ekholm, and Mikael Granlund could be on the move if they do not turn things around quickly. Yet, another player who could become a trade candidate in this scenario is Nino Niederreiter.

Niederreiter joined the Predators this past offseason on a two-year, $8 million contract. After recording a 44-point campaign in 75 games last season with the Carolina Hurricanes, his pace of production is a bit lower this year, as he has 14 goals and 24 points in 52 games. Although it has been a little bit of a down year for him, fans around the league know that he can be a very solid second-line forward while performing at his best. Thus, a market should form for him if he is officially made available.

Teams who miss out on big-name trade targets like Timo Meier and Patrick Kane could certainly call the Predators about Niederreiter as we get closer to the deadline. Some potential teams who could enter the mix include the Hurricanes, Boston Bruins, New Jersey Devils, Winnipeg Jets, and Buffalo Sabres.
