NHL Rumors: Blackhawks Forward Emerging as Trade Candidate

Chicago Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson has been busy taking trade calls these past couple of weeks. Talks have picked up around the league and the Blackhawks are one of the basement-dwelling teams who are expected to make multiple big trades. While Chicago has a few big names who are likely getting moved ahead of the March 3 deadline, look for some depth pieces to be discussed, including forward Colin Blackwell.

Blackwell is a work ethic type of player who loves to grind away opponents. His motor is unmatched by many and Blackwell could help a number of team's bottom six depth and their penalty kill units.

The Blackhawks forward isn't a rental and is signed next season at a reasonable $1.2 million against the cap. One of the good things about Blackwell is he's a disciplined player. He's drawn 14 penalties in 2022-23 and has taken only three himself.

Look for a number of teams to be interested including the Pittsburgh Penguins, Carolina Hurricanes, Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers.
