3 Potential Trade Destinations for Coyotes Karel Vejmelka

The Arizona Coyotes are listening to trade offers on just about all of their players and this includes goaltender Karel Vejmelka. Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman mentioned Vejmelka as a potential trade candidate several weeks ago and ever since the trade rumors have been running wild. While it will have to take a significant trade offer to get the Coyotes to bite, here's a few teams who certainly will be kicking tires:

Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins goaltenders can't stay healthy and after last season where they had to play their third-stringer in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Pens are in the market for some goaltending depth. Tristan Jarry does not have a contract for next season and Vejmelka's $2.7 million salary will be much less than Jarry will make so this could entice GM Ron Hextall to consider his options.

Buffalo Sabres

Regardless of if they make the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Buffalo Sabres are close to being a real problem in the Eastern Conference. They don't necessarily have a standout number one netminder and Vejmelka would certainly provide this type of performance night in and night out for the Sabres. The Sabres do have prospect Devon Levi who has potential to become a franchise goalie and could interest the Coyotes.

Ottawa Senators

The Sens have Cam Talbot who is a pending free agent and doesn't appear to be in Ottawa's long term plans. The team needs a starter who is in his prime and can continue to grow with this Senators roster which is full of a younger crowd. Vejmelka has game-changing abilities and has stole many wins for the Coyotes these past couple of years. Talbot doesn't necessarily have this type of ceiling and this would be a huge upgrade in Ottawa.
