NHL Rumors: Boston Bruins Defenseman Being Linked to Coyotes

It was recently reported by NHL insider Pierre LeBrun that the Boston Bruins have recently inquired about Arizona Coyotes star defenseman Jakob Chychrun. Now, there are rumblings that the Coyotes would want right-shot defenseman Brandon Carlo as a piece heading the other way in a Chychrun blockbuster trade.

The Bruins would need to part ways with much more than just Carlo to allow this move to go through, but it is clear that the Coyotes would want him back as an NHL-caliber player in this trade. It ultimately makes sense, as the 26-year-old has emerged as a solid top-four defenseman with the Bruins. Although he does not offer too much offensively (nine points in 47 games), his strong defensive play is what would make him valuable to a rebuilding Coyotes team.

A very important thing to note about Carlo is that his 10-team no-trade list does not kick in until next season. As a result, if the Bruins want to move him, now would be the time while they have zero restrictions. Alas, we will need to wait and see if the Bruins move Carlo as one of the pieces in a Chychrun trade from here.
