NHL Rumors: Nashville Predators Goalie Becoming Trade Candidate

The Nashville Predators currently do not hold a playoff spot, and they will likely be sellers if they are unable to turn this ship around before the deadline. As a result, goaltender Kevin Lankinen is becoming a prime rental candidate.

After a rough season last year with the Chicago Blackhawks, Lankinen has bounced back beautifully with the Predators this season. As a result, there certainly could be a market for him if some contenders are looking to boost up their goaltending depth. He has shown that he can be a valuable backup netminder in this league, and he has a cheap cap hit, so that only heightens his value as a rental to other clubs.

Expect teams like the Buffalo Sabres, Los Angeles Kings, and Pittsburgh Penguins to make a push for Lankinen as we get closer to the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline. Alas, we will need to wait and see if Nashville decides to trade him from here.
