Philadelphia Flyers Rumors: Defenseman Garnering Interest

The Philadelphia Flyers are gearing up to be major sellers at the 2023 Trade Deadline, and players like Kevin Hayes and James van Riemsdyk have emerged as trade targets because of it. However, another Flyer who is generating a lot of attention on the trade market is veteran defenseman Justin Braun.

Last season, the Flyers landed a third-round pick from the New York Rangers at the deadline for Braun, but it is unlikely that they will be able to net the same return this campaign for him. Braun's offensive totals have taken a massive nosedive this season, as he has yet to record a single point in 35 games played. However, he has remained defensively responsible, as he has a plus-1 rating on a bad Flyers club.

Braun is the perfect defenseman for teams looking to add a bit more depth to their defensive group come deadline time. He has over 800 games of NHL experience, plays a steady defensive game, and has the potential to provide a boost to a contender's bottom pairing. We will need to wait and see where he gets moved to from here, but expect clubs like that Washington Capitals, Seattle Kraken, and Minnesota Wild to be some of the teams calling.
