Pittsburgh Penguins Rumors: Forward Garnering Trade Interest

The Pittsburgh Penguins are heading into the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline with the expectation of being buyers. However, for that to occur, they also are going to need to clear out some salary before making a big splash. As a result, Teddy Blueger has emerged as a trade candidate, and interest in his services is starting to increase noticeably.

The 2022-23 season has not been a very good one for Blueger, as he has just one goal, eight points, and a minus-7 rating in 37 games. Injury trouble can certainly be blamed for this, but perhaps a change of scenery could also help him find his old form. Keep in mind, he recorded a 28-point campaign in 65 games just last season.

Blueger stands out a prime trade target for teams looking to improve their bottom six and penalty kill. Some potential landing spots for the 28-year-old include the Winnipeg Jets, Edmonton Oilers, Seattle Kraken, Calgary Flames, and Minnesota Wild. We will need to wait and see where the 6-foot center gets moved to from here.
