Seattle Kraken Rumors: Blues Forward On Team's Radar

Ivan Barbashev is one of the top forwards currently on the trading block, and he is garnering plenty of interest around the league because of it. According to The Fourth Period, a new team has entered the mix, as the Seattle Kraken are now linked to the St. Louis Blues forward.

The Kraken are in a position to add to their roster, as they are currently fighting for a playoff spot in a very close Pacific Division. When noting that their middle six could use a boost, it makes a plethora of sense that Barbashev is emerging as one of their biggest trade targets. The 27-year-old can play all three forward positions, so he could work very well on either their second or third line. With that, he brings upon a nice degree of physicality to go along with reliable defensive play.

In 56 games this season, Barbashev has 10 goals to go along with 28 points. With solid numbers like these, it is easy to see why other teams like the Boston Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning, Edmonton Oilers, New York Islanders, and Los Angeles Kings are linked to him. Now, Seattle is a part of the sweepstakes, so we will need to wait and see if they land him from here.
