St. Louis Blues Rumors: Defenseman Garnering Trade Interest

The St. Louis Blues have already begun selling, as they have traded Ryan O'Reilly, Vladimir Tarasenko, Niko Mikkola, and Noel Acciari this month. Yet, more moves could be on the way from St. Louis, as The Fourth Period has reported that Torey Krug is starting to receive trade interest.

It is important to note immediately that Krug will have control over whether or not he is moved, as he has a full no-trade clause. However, if a legitimate contender shows interest and a potential fit is there, it certainly is possible that we could see the veteran be open to leaving the Blues. However, his contract isn't particularly easy to move, as he carries a $6.5 million cap hit until the end of the 2026-27 season.

Yet, Krug is a trade target that teams could be interested in if they are looking for a top-four offensive defenseman. The 31-year-old still can produce well from the point, as he has five goals to go along with 22 points in 39 games this season. Alas, we will need to wait and see if this interest leads to the Michigan native finding a new home before the deadline passes from here.
