Nashville Predators Rumors: Forward Being Linked to Lightning

The Tampa Bay Lightning are aiming to add to their forward group before the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline passes. As a result of this, NHL insider Frank Seravalli reported that Nashville Predators forward Tanner Jeannot could be a trade target for them if he is officially made available.

The Lightning have become famous for acquiring third-line forwards at the deadline over the last few years, so it would make sense for them to continue this trend with Jeannot. The 25-year-old winger may only have 14 points in 54 games this season, but he also had 24 goals and 41 points in 81 games just last season. Thus, perhaps a change of scenery to a far better team in the Lightning could help him find his previous scoring touch.

Yet, Jeannot is most known for his immense physical style of play, and his 208 hits in just 54 games this year show that perfectly. Overall, the Lightning would be getting a strong middle-six winger who plays a very heavy game if they acquire Jeannot, so they should seriously consider making a push for him. With that, he only carries an $800,000 cap hit.
