Tampa Bay Lightning Rumors: Defenseman Being Shopped

The 2023 NHL Trade Deadline is right around the corner, and the trade market is only increasing because of it. Now, there is a new player to pay attention to, as NHL insider Frank Seravalli reported that the Tampa Bay Lightning have been exploring the trade market for Cal Foote.

Hearing that Foote could be on the move is not all too surprising when you think about it. The 2017 first-round pick has not been utilized very often by Tampa Bay this season, and that obviously is not going to help his chances of taking that next step in his development. As a result, joining a team that has weaker defensive depth could be just what he needs.

Seravalli noted in his piece that the Vancouver Canucks could be a potential landing spot for him, as his father, Adam, recently became an assistant coach for them. However, some other clubs that we could see join the sweepstakes include the Calgary Flames, Buffalo Sabres, Ottawa Senators, Anaheim Ducks, and Arizona Coyotes.
