Vancouver Canucks Call Up Top Prospect

The Vancouver Canucks have made a notable roster move, as top prospect Aatu Raty has been called up to the NHL squad.

This call-up is certainly newsworthy, as Raty was one of the main pieces that the Canucks acquired from the Islanders for former captain Bo Horvat last month. Now, the 20-year-old is with the NHL team for the first time since being acquired, and he will be hoping to make his debut as a Canuck because of it.

Raty was selected with the 52nd pick of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft by the Islanders and made his NHL debut this season. In 12 games with New York, he has two goals to go along with a plus-1 rating. In 36 American Hockey League (AHL) games split between the Bridgeport Islanders and Abbotsford Canucks, he has seven goals and nine assists.

In other news, the Canucks have also called up defenseman Guillaume Brisebois and sent down Phillip Di Giuseppe to Abbotsford. Yet, it is clear that the Raty call-up is the most notable roster move made by Vancouver. Let's see if the kid gets into some action for them from here.
