Boston Bruins Rumors: Blues Forward On Team's Radar

The Boston Bruins are at the top of the NHL standings and are preparing to be big buyers at the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline because of it. They have been linked to a number of players, but a new one appears to be on their radar. According to The Fourth Period, the Bruins are interested in St. Louis Blues forward Ivan Barbashev.

The Bruins are just the latest team to make a push for Barbashev, and the teams interested in him should only increase until he is moved. It is easy to understand why, as he is a solid middle-six forward who can play both center and on the wings. With that, he provides solid secondary scoring, effective defensive play, and grit in the process. Thus, it makes sense that a team with Stanley Cup aspirations is looking to acquire him.

Barbashev has appeared in 57 games this season with the Blues, where he has 10 goals to go along with 18 assists. Overall, he has the potential to be a very good upgrade over Craig Smith on the third line, but we will need to wait and see if the Bruins end up being the lucky team to acquire him from here.
