Vegas Golden Knights' 2023 Trade Deadline Needs

The Vegas Golden Knights lost Mark Stone to another injury and he will potentially be out for the rest of the regular season. The team is still in a top-three spot in their division, but are slipping fast. They have won just two of their past 10 games and need support up front quickly. They are a team with enough talent that they shouldn't be missing the playoffs.

To address Mark Stone and his $9.5 million cap hit out of the lineup, the Golden Knights must go big at the trade deadline and acquire the most impactful rental. This means targeting Vladimir Tarasenko, Tyler Bertuzzi, Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Sean Monahan, or even more. There is a second option too as all the cap space could be used to acquire not just one big name, but two players to really address the holes at forward.

The other area that Vegas would benefit from addressing is their sixth defenceman. Zach Whitecloud is listed as month-to-month and Ben Hutton has been filling in and has played less than half of the games this season. There are solid options to trade for here as well. The Golden Knights don't just expect a playoff appearance from their team, they expect to be Stanley Cup contenders. With a ton of cap space freed up, all holes need to be addressed and they can worry about futures and prospects at a later time.
