Minnesota Wild Rumors: GM Rejected 2 Trade Offers

The Minnesota Wild were one of the busiest teams ahead of the 2023 trade deadline and word is there could of easily been more business completed. Wild GM Bill Guerin reportedly received multiple offers on two of his defensemen, Matthew Dumba and Alex Goligoski.

Dumba is a pending unrestricted free agent making $6 million against the cap, meanwhile the 37-year-old Goligoski is signed through next season at $2 million. Dumba has appeared in 60 games this season and has recorded 13 points. A down season, no doubt, however Guerin is happy with how Dumba is contributing to the game more defensively this season. No word yet if contract extension talks are in the works.

As for Goligoski, he's been in and out of the lineup this season but is at his best when he's helping a power-play unit and moving the puck. He holds a no-movement clause and no word yet if he was ever asked to waive it or how far trade talks advanced. This season Goligoski has recorded four points in 30 games and his best season came back in 2013-14 as a member of the Dallas Stars when he put up 42 points.

The Wild sit second in the Central division and look like a team who will use work ethic, defensive structure and some timely goaltending to make a Stanley Cup run this season.
