Seattle Kraken Rumors: 3 Offseason Trade Candidates

Welcome to NHL Trade Rumors' Offseason Trade Candidates series. During it, we will be looking at three players from each team who could be moved during the summer.

In this latest installment, we will be focusing on the Seattle Kraken.

Will Borgen: Will Borgen was getting attention on the trade market before the deadline passed, and it is likely that the Kraken will listen to offers for him this summer because of it. The pending restricted free agent is having a solid year and establishing himself as a legitimate shutdown defenseman in the NHL. Therefore, look for several teams to pursue him this offseason.

Chris Driedger: Chris Driedger lost the majority of his 2022-23 season due to a torn ACL. Since his return, he has been in the American Hockey League, as Philipp Grubauer and Martin Jones have established themselves as Seattle’s goalie tandem. Thus, look for the Kraken to try to trade Driedger for some much-needed cap space.

Kole Lind: The Kraken could also look to trade Kole Lind this offseason. The young forward was expected to become a solid part of the Kraken’s roster when they selected him in the expansion draft, but the Kraken’s improved forward depth currently has him in the AHL. Therefore, look for Seattle to send him elsewhere so he can receive more NHL opportunities.
