Washington Capitals Dealt Tough Injury News

The Washington Capitals will try to secure some points down the stretch without Sonny Milano in their lineup. The winger is expected to miss at least one week with an upper-body injury.

The Capitals are in a battle to secure a Stanley Cup Playoff spot as they trail the Pittsburgh Penguins by four points for the second wild card position in the Eastern Conference. The math isn't great either for Washington as the Pens have a game in hand, and so too do the Florida Panthers who the Caps need to leap frog.

As for Milano, he's been a pleasant surprise in Washington this season. The 26-year-old turned his one-year contract into a three-year contract extension, which pays him $1.9 million through the 2025-26 season. Through his 58 games with the Caps, Milano has recorded 11 goals and 32 points.
