Washington Capitals Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots for Anthony Mantha

The Washington Capitals are expected to shop Anthony Mantha this offseason just like they did before the deadline passed. Although a trade did not come to fruition, things could change on that front when teams have more cap space available during the offseason. Therefore, let’s go over three possible landing spots for him.

Calgary Flames: The Calgary Flames need more scoring if they want to turn things back around next season. Although Mantha has had a bit of a down year in DC, perhaps a change of scenery could get him back to being the top-six forward fans know he is capable of. With that, he would give the Flames another solid net-front presence option for their power play.

New York Islanders: The New York Islanders stand out as another team who could make a push for Mantha. They absolutely could use an upgrade over Josh Bailey in their top six, and Mantha would provide them with just that. With that, he could fit perfectly on their top line with Bo Horvat and Mat Barzal.

Montreal Canadiens: Could the Montreal Canadiens be open to taking a chance on Mantha? It seems possible. They showed last offseason that they are willing to take on players with upside when they acquired Sean Monahan. With that, former Canadien Andre Provonost is his grandfather, so that also could heighten the chances of him being moved there.
