Carolina Hurricanes Could Finally Switch Goalies For Game 6

The Carolina Hurricanes have gone with Antti Raanta in net for the first five games of the series, and although the veteran has helped the Hurricanes go up in the series 3-2, he also has a very poor record on the road, finally winning the first road playoff game of his career earlier in this series.

While he has held down the crease well enough, Frederik Andersen also wasn't able to go earlier in the series. He was battling an illness and it was better to go with a healthy goalie. Andersen now says that he is 100% and while there was no chance he was going to play while dealing with something, Rod Brind'Amour now said there's a chance.

Andersen is the team's starter and he didn't get the chance to get into a game for the Hurricanes last playoffs when he had a very good regular season. Carolina lost in the second round and are trying to advance further with their sights set on the Stanley Cup. Andersen has strong playoff numbers with a .916 SV% and a .623 quality start percentage. Raanta didn't play very well last game and as the Hurricanes are back on the road, it would make sense to throw their best goalie in there to finish off the series before it gets out of hand and it comes down to a winner takes all.
