Edmonton Oilers Rumors: Insider Names Forward as Trade Target

The Edmonton Oilers are going to need clear out cap space this offseason. As a result of this, NHL insider Frank Seravalli reported that Kailer Yamamoto could potentially be on the move this summer.

The Oilers have a notable pending RFA in Evan Bouchard who they surely will want to keep around. As a result, it may be a necessity to move Yamamoto and his $3.1 million cap hit. With that, he did struggle a bit for his standards in 2022-23, as he had just 10 goals and 25 points in 58 games.

Yamamoto should get a good amount of interest around the league, as he has had past success, and he is still only 24 years old. Look for teams like the Anaheim Ducks, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals, and Winnipeg Jets to be in the mix for his services if he is officially made available.

In 244 career NHL games, Yamamoto has 50 goals, 68 assists, 118 points, and a plus-29 rating.
