Minnesota Wild Rumors: 3 Free Agents to Target This Offseason

Welcome to NHL Trade Rumors' 2023 Free-Agent Targets series. During it, we will be discussing three pending unrestricted free agents that each team should aim to sign.

In this latest episode, we will be focusing on the Minnesota Wild.

Sean Monahan: Sean Monahan had a solid season with the Montreal Canadiens, but injury trouble has kept him out of the lineup since early December. Due to this, he is a free agent who the Wild could likely sign to an affordable contract. If he can stay healthy and bounce back, he could serve as a top-six center for them. In 25 games this season, he has six goals and 11 assists.

Max Pacioretty: Max Pacioretty stands out as a player who may need to take a cheap one-year deal due to his injury trouble this season. He appeared in just five games this season with the Carolina Hurricanes, where he had three goals. However, due to tearing his Achilles again, he would be a gamble to take a chance on.

Connor Brown: Connor Brown is another low-risk, high-reward player who likely could be had at a cheap cap hit this offseason. Similar to Pacioretty, he has missed the majority of this season, appearing in just four games with the Washington Capitals. Yet, when noting that he had a 39-point campaign in 64 games last season with the Ottawa Senators, he could be a player for the Wild to take a chance on with their limited cap space.
