Nashville Predators Rumors: 2 Teams Linked to Tyson Barrie

The Nashville Predators acquired Tyson Barrie as one of the many pieces in the Mattias Ekholm trade. However, with the Predators looking to get younger, they are expected to listen to offers for the offensive defenseman this summer. The 31-year-old is already starting to generate some interest, as the Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings are linked to him.

Senators GM Pierre Dorion made it known that the rebuild is over, and that he expects the Senators to be back in the playoffs in 2023-24. However, for that to occur, they will need to improve the right side of their defensive group. Thus, it is not particularly surprising that Barrie is on their radar. He would give them another top-four defenseman to work with and a power-play specialist.

The Red Wings traded Filip Hronek at the deadline to the Vancouver Canucks, and they are looking to add a right-shot offensive defenseman because of it. Thus, it makes sense that they are currently considering making a push for Barrie. This is especially so when noting that they want to be a playoff team next season.

We will need to wait and see if either of these two clubs acquire Barrie this offseason from here. In 85 games this season, he had 13 goals and 55 points.
