NHL Rumors: 3 Teams Expected to Target Connor Brown This Offseason

Connor Brown missed all but four games this season for the Washington Capitals due to a torn ACL. Due to this, he will likely be forced to settle for a cheap one-year, prove-it deal as a free agent this offseason. However, when noting that he is an effective second-line forward when healthy, there should be some teams willing to take a chance on him. Let's look at three specific teams expected to target him.

Edmonton Oilers: The Edmonton Oilers will likely look to improve at right wing this offseason. However, they also have limited cap space, so they may not have too many options when it comes to expensive free agents. As a result, this could lead the Oilers to take a chance on Brown.

Minnesota Wild: The Ryan Suter and Zach Parise buyout penalties will impact the Minnesota Wild's offseason plans immensely. If they want to improve their roster, they will likely need to bring in players on cheap contracts, so look for them to be in the mix for Brown. If he can stay healthy and produce at the rate he's capable of, he would be a great option for their middle six.

Pittsburgh Penguins: The Pittsburgh Penguins could also be in the mix for Brown's services as well. Jason Zucker is expected to test the free-agent market this offseason, and Brown could be a replacement for him in their middle six.
