St. Louis Blues Rumors: Defenseman Expected to be Shopped

The St. Louis Blues had a poor 2022-23 season and made several changes to their roster before the deadline passed. This is expected to continue over the summer as well, as the Blues are looking to retool their group. One player who is expected to be shopped because of this is Torey Krug.

Krug's name starter to emerge in the rumor mill during the final days leading up to the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline, but a move did not occur. However, with teams having more cap space available to work with due to expiring contracts, this is something that could very well change.

Krug was limited to only 63 games this season with the Blues, where he had nine goals to go along with 32 points. Overall, it was another solid year offensively for the 32-year-old, so there should be a market for him this offseason. This is especially so if teams are looking for more offense from the point and help on the power play.

Krug has complete control over where and if he will get moved, however, as he has a full no-trade clause and would need to waive it for a trade to occur. We will need to wait and see what happens with the Michigan native from here.
