NHL Rumors: 3 Teams Expected to Target John Klingberg This Offseason

John Klingberg is one of the top free-agent defensemen heading into this summer. Due to the Minnesota Wild's limited cap space, he will likely be heading elsewhere this offseason. Thus, let's discuss three teams who are expected to target him.

New York Islanders: The New York Islanders need more offensive production, so they are likely to make a push for Klingberg. He would fit nicely in the top four and would provide them with a quarterback for the power play. Therefore, there could be a great match here on paper.

Detroit Red Wings: After trading Filip Hronek before the deadline passed, the Detroit Red Wings should be looking to add another right-shot offensive defenseman to their group. Klingberg is the best option available this free agency year, so expect Detroit to be in the mix for his services. They have the cap space to bring him in with ease.

St. Louis Blues: The St. Louis Blues will be looking to turn things around next season. When noting that their right side could use a boost, they are expected to be one of the clubs who target Klingberg this offseason.
