NHL Rumors: Pittsburgh Penguins Linked To Former Flames General Manager

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Calgary Flames were two of the NHL's most disappointing teams in the 2022/23 NHL season, and just weeks after their seasons ended, it appears that the Penguins could be after a formerly key member of the Flames front office.

According to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, the Penguins are interested in talking to former Calgary Flames General Manager Brad Treliving, following the organization moving on from the polarizing Ron Hextall.

While his stint in Calgary didn't end well, Treliving was the GM for some of the most successful regular seasons in Flames history, drafting names such as Adam Fox, Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Bennett, so with the Penguins in a tricky situation going forward, they could do a lot worse at the GM position.
