Toronto Maple Leafs Top Prospect To Make NHL Debut

The Toronto Maple Leafs have locked in a rematch with the Tampa Bay Lightning in Round One of the Stanley Cup Playoffs already, and as such, they have been getting some much needed rest for some of their top stars, and now, they've got a bonus on the way for Leafs fans.

On Monday night as the Leafs take on the Florida Panthers, newly signed Matthew Knies, the Hobey Baker Finalist from the Minnesota Golden Gophers will officially make his NHL debut, showcasing the biggest piece of the Leafs future.

In 40 games for Minnesota this year, the 2021 second round draft pick racked up 21 goals and 21 assists for 42 points, and while he may not have a spot in the starting lineup when the playoffs roll around, he is certainly going to be a valuable piece for this franchise going forward.
