Vancouver Canucks Rumors: Defenseman Becoming Trade Candidate

The Vancouver Canucks had a disappointing 2022-23 season, and changes are expected to be on the way this offseason because of it. One player who is becoming a prime trade candidate because of this is defenseman Tyler Myers.

Myers was getting some attention leading up to the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline, and that is likely to occur during this summer as well. After all, he is a solid second-pairing defenseman while playing at his best, as he plays a steady defensive game and can chip in a bit offensively in the process.

Myers carries a $6 million cap hit until the end of the 2023-24 season, so it is possible that Vancouver would be open to retaining a small portion of his salary to help make a move come to fruition. Teams who need help on the right side of their defensive group and have money to work with are likely to make a push for Myers from here. Some specific clubs to pay attention in the sweepstakes include the Ottawa Senators, Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, New Jersey Devils, and Seattle Kraken.
