3 Rumored Trade Destinations for Jets' Mark Scheifele

The Winnipeg Jets are going to look much different next season as their core could be changing teams. The likes of Blake Wheeler, Connor Hellebuyck and Mark Scheifele could all be moved this summer as the Jets head in a new direction. Let's zone in on Scheifele as the talented center will be linked to trades heading into the NHL Entry Draft and into free agency. Here's three rumored destinations:

Boston Bruins

The Bruins are going to have a gaping hole down the middle of their ice and would love to add a player like Scheifele to their mix. He has one season left on his contract at $6.1 million and his trade protection is only against 10 teams. His two-way game and work ethic would serve him well in Boston. Scheifele scored 42 goals and 68 points in 81 games last season for Winnipeg.

Columbus Blue Jackets

We've seen these two teams make a major move before, could another be on the way? There isn't a team in the league more desperate for center help than the Blue Jackets. Scheifele lining up with Johnny Gaudreau and Patrik Laine would give Columbus a serious threat at the top of their lineup. Columbus has a toolbox full of young talent and this trade will come down to management's interest, not a lack of a trade assets.

Detroit Red Wings

The Wings have a boatload of cap space, a ton of draft picks and a general manager who thinks his team is close to getting over the hump. Detroit will be in the mix for Scheifele and can supply the Jets with young, NHL ready talent to plug and play into their lineup. Scheifele is a huge fan of Steve Yzerman so this could be a full circle moment in Motown.
