Columbus Blue Jackets Rumors: Former Captain On Team's Radar

Nick Foligno has made it known that he wants to continue his career in 2023-24. However, a return to the Boston Bruins is not guaranteed because of their limited cap space and several other pending free agents. Thus, if the veteran hits the market, there have been rumblings that the Columbus Blue Jackets will make a push to bring their former captain back.

The Blue Jackets are coming off of a disastrous season, but the primary reason for that was significant injury trouble from the very start of the season. As a result, they will be looking to bounce back in 2023-24 and are expected to be active in free agency. Foligno is one of the most beloved figures in their franchise history and an excellent leader, so there could be a great match here again.

Foligno is coming off of a solid season with the Bruins that saw him score 10 goals and record 26 points while playing bottom-six minutes in 60 games. He displayed that he is still an effective player and with that, he would have the potential to make an impact with the Blue Jackets if he returns.
