New Jersey Devils Announce Starting Goalie For Must-Win Game 7

The New Jersey Devils are set to face off against their rivals, the New York Rangers, in a deciding Game 7 on Monday night.

It has been reported that Akira Schmid will be the starting goaltender for the Devils, despite allowing five goals in the previous game.

With a record of 3-1 this postseason and a relatively low number of goals allowed, Schmid's impressive performances have earned him the opportunity to help secure a win and advance to the next round.

Despite the poor performance in Game 6, the 22-year-old has been fantastic so far this playoffs, recording a .937 save percentage, a 1.72 GAA, and a shutout over four games played.

This season, Schmid recorded a strong .922 SV%, 2.13 GAA, a shutout, and a 9-5 record over 18 games played (14 starts).

It's exciting to see a young player like Schmid making an impact in the NHL and contributing to the success of the New Jersey Devils.
