NHL Rumors: 3 Teams Expected to Target Garnet Hathaway This Offseason

The Boston Bruins are unlikely to bring back Garnet Hathaway this offseason, as they have several other pending UFAs who are bigger priorities to try to keep. If Hathaway does in fact hit the market, there will be a plethora of teams interested, as he plays an extremely heavy game and can chip in a bit offensively in a bottom-six role. Thus, let's discuss three possible landing spots for him this summer.

New York Rangers: The New York Rangers could use more grit after parting ways with Ryan Reaves. As a result, Hathaway could be a player on their radar. He would be a grit fit in their bottom six and provide them with more energy if signed.

Calgary Flames: The Calgary Flames should consider reuniting with Hathaway this offseason. It is clear that their bottom six could use a makeover, and Hathway would be an upgrade over players like Milan Lucic and Trent Lewis. With the Flames looking to be a playoff team again, do not be surprised if they look to add a fine role player in Hathaway.

Nashville Predators: The Nashville Predators showed that they are still competitive even after trading away several notable players at the deadline. Therefore, they could be in for a busy summer and look to improve their group. Hathaway would give them more grit and leadership in their bottom six, so there could be a good match here.
