NHL Rumors: Colorado Avalanche Linked to Veteran Forward

Corey Perry has made it known that he wants to play in the 2023-24 season. If the Tampa Bay Lightning choose not to bring back the 37-year-old winger, the Colorado Avalanche are expected to be in the mix for his services in free agency.

The Avalanche have several pending UFA forwards and are going to be looking to improve their bottom six this summer because of it. Perry showed this season that he can still be effective in such a role, as he had 12 goals to go along with 25 points in 81 games played. However, his play picked up during the postseason, as he had two goals and five points in six contests.

The Avalanche and Perry could be a great match, as they would give the veteran a chance to compete for one last Stanley Cup. We will need to wait and see what happens with the 2003 first-round pick from here, but expect Colorado to pursue him this summer if Tampa Bay lets him walk.
