Vancouver Canucks Rumors: Forward to be Free-Agent Target

The Vancouver Canucks are aiming to improve their depth down the middle this offseason. As a result, there have been rumblings that they will target Pius Suter if he hits the open market this summer.

The Canucks will be on the hunt for a third-line center, and Suter has the potential to be a solid option for them because of it. He has shown that he can contribute well offensively in a bottom-six role, but he also can be used to kill penalties because of his defensive reliability. Furthermore, he is a player who is unlikely to make too much on his next contract. Therefore, if the Canucks move out salary, they should have no trouble fitting him in.

Yet, when noting that Suter can play all three forward positions and is a solid middle-six forward while performing at his best, there will be plenty of teams interested in him this offseason. Thus, the Canucks will have competition to sign him.  Nevertheless, we will need to wait and see if he ends up becoming a Canuck from here.
