Washington Capitals Rumors: Jets Forward Becoming Trade Target

The Washington Capitals are looking to improve from what was a disappointing 2022-23 season. One specific need that they have is a top-six forward, and now there are rumblings that they could target Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers this offseason because of it.

The Jets had a disappointing end to their season, as they suffered a five-game first-round exit to the Vegas Golden Knights. This came after they ended the year on a poor note and barely made the playoffs, so there had been speculation that changes will be on the way. Ehlers has emerged as one of their top trade targets because of it, and now the Caps are linked to him.

Ehlers would give the Capitals another very good winger for their first or second line, so this could be an excellent avenue for them to go down. However, he is officially made available, several other teams will be in the mix for his services. However, if Washington has it their way, Ehlers will be a Capital at the beginning of the 2023-24 season.
