Washington Capitals Rumors: Trade Request Made By Veteran Forward

The Washington Capitals are going to look much different next season as the team missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs and are in line for major changes. One Cap in particular not expected back in Washington is Evgeny Kuznetsov after his agent made some very interesting comments about his future.

I've known Zhenya for a very long time... there are people who are quite disciplined. Zhenya's not in this category. Right now, he doesn't have this joy from hockey. And Kuznetsov, without a spark, he's not interested in anything. He just needs a change of scenery. He has a family, he has children, he's doing well. But for him to get more spark from hockey -- now, he doesn't have that spark. 100 % he needs to move on from Capitals.

The Capitals management team grew frustrated with Kuznetsov throughout the season for his inconsistent play, he finished with 12 goals and 55 points in 81 games, to go along with a -26 rating. The long-time Capital has two more seasons on his contract, paying him $7.8 million per season.

Kuznetsov holds no-trade protection as he submits a list of 10 teams he'd like to avoid. Look for trade talks to pick up significantly at the NHL Entry Draft next month.
