3 Potential Trade Destinations for Penguins' Jake Guentzel

The Pittsburgh Penguins will be active on the trade market this summer as president Kyle Dubas looks to make his mark on the roster. While Mikael Granlund and Marcus Pettersson are the most likely to be moved by the Pens, Jake Guentzel is someone to watch. The 28-year-old has one season left on his deal and if a contract extension can't be agreed upon, look for Guentzel to hit the trade market.

Here's three potential destinations should the Penguins want to move a piece of their core:

Los Angeles Kings

The Kings are looking to retool on the fly and are in the market for a big-name forward. Guentzel is a prolific scorer and put up 73 points in 76 games last season. The Kings have some big-money contracts coming off the books next summer, including Anze Kopitar and his $10 million salary. There's room to keep Guentzel in the cards in LA. Penguins targets would include Sean Durzi, Arthur Kaliyev and of course, Adrian Kempe.

Seattle Kraken

The Kraken surprised us all last season and look for Ron Francis to make a splash this summer. Guentzel would certainly do the trick. Dubas and Francis have done business together in the past and should a deal go down between these two clubs, look for the Penguins to target Yanni Gourde and Adam Larsson.

Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers would love to add another winger for their top-six and if a move happens between these two clubs, it'd be a blockbuster. Dubas loves Zach Hyman, so could a one for one make sense? Ken Holland is expected to make several moves this offseason and it could start by shaking up the core around McDavid and Draisaitl. This would definitely be a start.
